Many people like to have a reading at the start of the New Year, to see what their future might hold. As an Intuitive Reader, I notice people coming for readings may benefit from taking some time out for themselves (particularly in nature). ‘Just be’, is often relevant too. Our answers can come when we pause for long enough to notice them. When they don’t come, it might not be the right time: ‘we don’t always get to the traffic lights when they are on green’. Often people can be somewhat depleted when they come for a reading, they are lacking inner ‘oomph’. An energy therapy such as reiki or angelic energy may be a boost to finding their answers again.
Finding our own answers
It is empowering to find our own answers. Choosing some oracle cards and learning to do our own readings develops our intuition long-term. Oracle cards work like a screen to project our intuition onto. Intutiive and psychic development courses are available in person and online with myself, contact me if you’d like to know more. Above all, choose a teacher, mentor or reader practitioner who you feel comfortable with. I love the quote by Khahlil Gibran ‘the teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind’ Or you can learn by yourself. Rather than depending on others for answers, using oracle cards helps us listen to our intuition and internal guidance. Over time as we build confidence in this process, we no longer need oracle cards either.
Consulting the oracle
There are many different types of oracle cards on the market nowadays to suit all, such as angel cards, fairy cards, tarot cards, animal, nature, crystal, shamanic and more. Some say others should buy the cards for us, but I have always bought my own according to what I feel drawn to. When using cards, it’s worth making a note of what we think they might be telling us. Wishful thinking means we can read what we want into our own cards. However, over time, we may see that they were trying to tell us something different. This could also be true of a reading we have with another. We hear what we want to hear and ‘we see the world not as it is, but how we are’. In life generally, as well as with readings, letting go of and not attaching to an outcome can help us to learn to ‘go with the flow’.

The Gift
Whatever our future might hold, it always starts with our present. The choices that we make in the present help to lay the foundations for the path that we walk. This is where stilling practises of mindfulness and meditation can be supportive in opening our eyes – both physical and the intuitive third eye chakra. Stilling helps us to notice what is happening, right here right now. This then influences the future that we create in the present, ‘which is why the present is called a gift!
