Ear Candles

Ear Candles are sometimes also called Thermoauricular Therapy or Ear Coning. This is a relaxing therapy which may help to relieve stress, soften ear wax, uplift people spiritually and possibly relieve pressure in the head and sinuses, thereby easing some associated conditions.

What can I expect from a treatment?

Lying on the side with the ear facing the ceiling, a hollow, beeswaxed covered linen ‘candle’ is gently inserted into the opening of the ear. The combination of warmth from the lit candle and gentle suction may help to soften ear wax, and ease sinuses and clear congestion in the head and associated areas.

The candle is removed after about 10 minutes and the client asked to lie on the other side. Another candle is lit and inserted then left for a further 10 minutes, During this time the client may enjoy their scalp being massaged or receiving some reiki.

To finish the treatment the face and ears are massaged.

The treatment lasts approximately 40 minutes.

Please note is you have grommets, cochlear implants, a perforated ear drum, an allergy to ingredients used in the candles, dental extractions or similar work within the last 48 hours, thrombosis, stroke, epilepsy or neck problems it contraindicates a treatment for your safety. Instead, you may want to try Reiki.
